He Loves Me - Acrylic Painting!

This is actually the first painting I started for the image called "He Loves Me". I had put it aside for several months while I stretched my wings with watercolors (which is why I wound up doing it in watercolors as well...I love this layout!). Here's my version of the painting in acrylics, on a large gallery wrapped canvas, months in the making!

Wetcanvas August 2008 Challenge

To help jumpstart my creative juices and challenge myself into painting things I don't normally tackle I joined in on the monthly watercolor painting challenge at www.wetcanvas.com. For those of you who have never heard of this fabulous website, it is an artist's haven! This painting is my view of the reference photo, a lovely picture of a building called Sissinghurst in England, and is 5x7 on 140lb. watercolor paper. It took me a week and a half of detail work. I have only ever painted architectural pieces once before, in 2001, and with acrylic paints (which are quite a bit easier to use for this type of thing!). I'm very proud of my efforts!

He Loves Me... Original Watercolor

This new painting is now for sale in my Etsy shop! 5x7 and painted in watercolors on 140lb. watercolor paper, this painting depicts a game that all little girls play, "he loves me, he loves me not"...this time played in earnest by a delicate Regency era lady!

Angelique in a Treasury!

"Angelique", one of the paintings in my shop, has been featured in this incredible treasury on Etsy that showcases wonderfully talented women! I'm so honored to have been included with such fantastic female artists (you can see Angelique second row from the bottom in the middle). Thank you so much to scharart.etsy.com for including me!
